With enormous natural resources and a promising tourism sector, Uganda stands out to be one of the richly blessed African countries. However, according to recent reports from Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) 2016/17 more than 10 million people in the “pearl of Africa” still live on less than a dollar a day meaning that this huge population can only afford a meal a day or no meal at all. Supplemented with a decline in economic growth of 2.3% in 2016/17 compared to that of 2015/16 which was at 5.7%, Uganda still faces poverty on the increase especially in rural areas. Here ,a house holds an average number of 6 children and in most cases the parents posses no stable income making it difficult to take care of their own children. This gives birth to child labour, early child marriages and violence.

According to the Uganda National household survey 2016/2017, the national poverty increased from 19.7 percent in the financial year 2012/13 to 21.4 percent in 2016/2017. This evidently calls for action from government. Unfortunately that is not happening any time soon due to increased corruption the public sector. These look at poverty as something facetious and yet many are being deprived of the nation cake resulting to a wider inequality gap.As a citizen of Uganda , I believe that we can scamper fight against poverty especially in the rural areas. Prince Wako foundation is really helping fellow Ugandans, the foundation is providing resources like sanitary pads, books, pens and other school requirements for children who go to the government schools and as well empower their families. I have realized that hanging on waiting for the government to do something for these people is like waiting for the rain in a desert so i joined Prince Wako foundation to help sensitise women and girls about the importance of education and help them realise dignity.  

With the help of donors which Prince Wako foundation would really appreciate we can help change the lives of many people emotionally ,physically and financially. This acrimony that they are facing can become a testimony if we can work hand in hand to help our fellow beings to have a normal life without pain and suffering. We can show our love and care as we wait for a new broom to sweep clean in our government. Any participation will be highly be appreciated for this non profit Organization.  

If these children are educated with adequate basic needs, they can be able to gain independence, help their families and realise dignity. As a victim of family separation, I know this also culminates denial of children needs I am just lucky enough that I had a caring Father who did not abandon me although most children in this context are abandoned and deprived of their rights.  

      Love is the answer to everything, as Prince Wako foundation showers love to these individuals especially the girl child we can be sure of equal access to education and healthcare. It would be a blessing to join PWF on the road of rebuilding a future for all these needy girl children and their families. 

Let us give hope, love and a sense of belonging to these poor souls. Everyone can change a life. All that these children and families need is equality and justice and this can only be realized through empowerment, quality education, scholastic materials and a proper meal. Receiving an education empowers girls to take control of their lives, their families, and their future. Girls with dreams become women with vision let’s create a world where this vision runs will and free.
